Red Rock Open Space, Colorado:

The cliffs, that wall Red Rock Canyon's flanks, create the makings of a magnificent climbing area.  Containing over 80 routes that are similar climbs to the Garden of the Gods, Red Rocks Open Space is one of the Largest parks in the Pikes Peak Region.

Routes:

Most routes are bolted for sport climbs. A few, however, will require cams and nuts.  It would be best to climb routes without the use of protection bolts whenever you can but the "seamless" nature of the sandstone requires the considerable use of expansion bolts to protect its routes.

All the routes end at bolt anchors equipped with lowering rings or chains that are well below the cliff-top. Cliff-top environments are extremely sensitive to human presence and have lots of loose rocks and boulders.  To keep visitors and the ecology of Red Rock Canyon safe, the climbing management plan requires that all routes end below the cliff-top.
