Gravity Play started in 1999 with a single indoor rock climbing wall located at Chapel Hills Mall in Colorado Springs, CO. Today with a substantial entertainment equipment inventory and multiple services such as: outdoor guided rock climbing, guided hiking, outdoor adventure based team building and corporate facilitation, event coordination and community outreach, Gravity Play is constantly evolving in the Rocky Mountain Region. Over the years we have served thousands of people throughout Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, western Kansas and western Nebraska.
We specialize in organizational events and community festivals. Gravity Play prides itself on customization. For example, a character dressed as Cinderella operating a spin art machine, a corporate teambuilding program designed to facilitate trust, a rock climbing wall on top of Beaver Creek Ski Area are just a few illustrations of our commitment to meeting customer requests. If it can be done safely, ethically and legally we will do our best to meet any request—just ask.
About the Leader of Gravity Play
J. Scott Butler founded and operates three businesses which specialize in family entertainment, outdoor adventure and team building. As a full time college professor for 13 years, butler won numerous awards and grants in the academic arena while specializing in human relations and organizational behavior.
As The 2007 Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce’s “Small Business Person of the Year” top three finalist, Butler continues to excel in the business arena. Starting his 10th year in business, Scott has developed many relationships with some of the Rocky Mountain’s Premier organizations and business leaders.
Scott is a private pilot, avid backcountry and lift served skier, certified and trained rock climbing guide, hiker, trail runner and fitness enthusiast who has lived, worked and played in Colorado and Wyoming since 1980
He resides in Colorado Springs with his wife, Dr. Michelle Butler and daughters Hannah & Leah.
